Its Pre-Monsoon !! Waiting eagerly for rains to quench your thirst. Why not enjoy the firework of fireflies while waiting. Moon and stars have always been there to follow your path and guide you. Ever seen fireflies do the same. Imagine a dark trail brightened by fireflies flying all around you. Imagine to be in a mysterious forest lighted by fireflies.
What are fireflies and why do they ignite?
Fireflies are a family of insects which glow in the dark. The phenomenon of glowing is called as bioluminescence which occurs due to a chemical reaction inside their bodies. Fireflies use this luminescence to attract mates or prey.
Some interesting facts about fireflies:
1. Certain species of female fireflies pick mates based on specific male flash pattern characteristics. Higher male flash rates and increased flash intensity have been found to be more attractive to females among two different fireflies species. 2. Many fireflies do not illuminate at all. They use pheromones to attract their mates. Using pheromones for sexual signal is an ancestral condition, whereas, using luminous sexual signals are recent phenomenon. 3. Certain species of fireflies deploy both pheromones and luminous component to identify their mates. 4. There are varieties of use of luminescence by fireflies apart from attracting mates. luminescence is also used for attracting prey, making themselves unpalatable to predators, for identifying other members of their species etc.

Day 1 : Saturday

• 02:00 pm: Meet the Team at Kasara station and move towards Muthkhel Village by local transport
• 05:00 pm: Reach Base village - Freshen up
• 05:30 pm: Welcome Drink
• 06:00 pm: Have evening snacks & Tea
• 06:30 pm: Enjoy watching the sunset and have good fun time
• 08:00 pm: Its time to BBQ(Veg & Nonveg - Limited)
• 09:30 pm: Dinner time; enjoy local cuisines specially cooked for us
• 11:00 pm: Go for the jungle trails and see fireflies
• 11:30 pm: Story telling and lots of fun, If tired can retire and take rest in tents

Day 2 : Sunday

• 07:00 am: Wake up call, freshen up
• 08:00 am: Have garma - garam breakfast
• 08:30 am: Explore surroundings
• 09:00 am: Boat Ride
• 10:00 am: Checkout & Start return journey towards Kasara by local transport
• 12:30 pm: Reach Kasara Station
• 02:40 pm: Reach Mumbai and bid adieu with a promise to meet soon

• Disclaimer: Sighting of fireflies is a natural phenomenon and is completely based on the rains, so if it rains heavily we may see less or no fireflies

• Floaters and sandals are not allowed
• Do not carry purse, side sling bags not allowed
• Eco-Tourism etiquettes to be followed. Trek is in the Eco / culturally -sensitive area
• Do not litter the place as it is in great need of being maintained and adopted
• Leader/ Organizer will not be responsible for any accident, mishap or compensation in whatsoever manner
• We should strictly follow the code of conduct, to avoid troubling our fellow trekkers or other people from our group or even locals
• Smoking and drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited
